No seriously. I am very unstable. I am also mostly confused....or should I say - I am mostly confused, I think. Sometimes a part of me wonders if I have multiple personalities. But they switch so fast that neither can figure the existence of the other. No one (not even the aforesuspected half) knows when the fuse will blow, when the sparks will fly, when the smoke will become a dangerous fire, when the deep rumble becomes a destructive earthquake. I periodically suffer from mass delusions too - like the time I was going to graduate with a PhD in two years or the time I thought I was invisible to cops especially when entrenched behind the steering wheels of a flying car.
During college days, dudes were rated using the 20-20 index (pronounced "twentchi-twentchi") - an indicator of how mentally unstable a person is. KK and I invented it while walking across a railway station in New Delhi. Essentially, if you can...
*Ahem* Anyways, self analysis preceded large scale deployment in public. I was delighted with how unstable my friends were until I saw my own report. I topped the scale and by a grand margin.
I listen with rapt attention in one class, a nasty distracter in another; a quiet element in one group, a raucous noisemaker in another; regular lab goer one semester, the hunted-by-the-prof in another; unhappy in the morning, teeming with joy in the evening; supposedly fighting with someone, but pally pally in the evening; a sheer genius one day, a lazy idiot the next [nah! I made that one up :-)]
And I remain a mystery... confounding myself and others all the time. The surprising thing is that things magically fall into place and seem to never mess up. Why that happens also remains a mystery!
