Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind.

- Bertrand Russell (English Logician and Philosopher 1872-1970)

I could not help but notice that the same profundity could have been uttered just as well by that cute dog that your neighbor has domesticated...

Sami. I must admit you completely lost me with that neighbour's dog business. I thought that the Bertrand Russell quote was cliched but very true of a lot of people. Please expand on the comment about the German shepherd.

I have wondered what the dogs we keep as pets think about us. And when I saw this quote, it struck me that they needed love, they are usually very curious and must have thought we are a wretched species (for very many reasons)! It was only a humorous take on the quote. Lighten up!

I kind of like this quote.

I am saying 'kind of' because I don't want you to go 'haha-ha! She *likes* this quote, HA-HA'.

Honestly, it used to be my email signature a few years back :-$

I like this quote too. But that does not mean that I won't make fun of it (or you for that matter!) :D
