Madagascar
Four penguins, a lion, a zebra, a hippo and a giraffe make a hilarious combo in this excellent animation from Dreamworks.
Like all animations, Madagascar carries its own pieces of crude humor, foolish villains, generous heroes, spoofs on other movies (like when the lion wrings ones of the foosas to use him as a Nunchuck, complete with Bruce Lee moves!) and spectacular scene portrayal.
My favorites were the penguins who were all relaxed and became global travelers with a round trip to Antartica. The orders barked out by the commander to his soldiers (especially the one where the private, who is busy taking notes, is told that he may not stay alive) were hilarious!
Interestingly, the animation of sea-waves lapping against the shores and ships were created by a BITSian from Cornell, Mahesh Ramasubramanian (he also worked on Shrek 2).
As for the picture above, it was snapped off my new 19" LCD screen with an olympus camera.

Me too loved the penguins! Wish they had played a bigger role in the movie.
You should check out the additional footage that comes with the DVD!
