Aha! pretty-pretty! Those are 'rockets' I think. They leave a white trail behind. Never seen them in the evening sky.

@evenstar: i wonder why the rocket exhaust is white. i have always assumed that the contrails are condensed water vapor droplets but then, the shuttle's solid rocket engine burns aluminium and ammonium perchlorate... and i suspect it is the other crap which make the plumes... (i am too tired and hungry now to google this. so let me leave the onus of figuring that out to you!)
